On August 21, our chapter has officially become 50 years old! The very special luau celebration dinner will be held on September 17, 2008 at the Hale Koa Hotel - Waikiki Room. Please join our Past Presidents and fellow members for a memorable evening. We are very honored that the Governor Linda Lingle will join us with her proclamation.

As many of you already know, our anniversary dinner is in conjunction with the Pacific Rim conference sponsored by the Educational Foundation for Women in Accounting (EFWA). The two-day conference is an excellent opportunity to earn up to 16 CPE credits in the areas of audit, controllership, tax and professional development. A discounted registration fee is offered to all ASWA members. Please do not miss this opportunity.

Because of the special anniversary event, there will be no general meeting for September. Our next general meeting will be on Tuesday, October 28th at the Plaza Club. Registration is at 11:30 am and the meeting starts at noon.

Hawaiian Telecom is seeking a Tax Manager to perform monthly compliance duties for the Company. Also includes research & preparation of local, state and Federal tax reports/forms as required. May also be involved with the tax provisioning process, performing tax audits and tasks related to the SOX 404 process. Qualifications include a BA, at least 5 years relevant experience.
